Greece might just be heaven on Earth. Everything about this country makes it seem like a dream. You walk outside your hotel room in Santorini and are confronted by the caldera views that immediately take your breath away. You notice the circular blue roofs of churches that stick out among all of the white buildings and the lovely small winding paths that lead you throughout the main streets. You only visit local restaurants, because when you go in off-season that’s all there are, and you try your first mousaka and attempt to eat your body weight in tzatziki. You explore all of the island towns, the black and red sand beaches, and (of course) the volcano!
It was such a perfect vacation! The landscape, the food, the beauty, the history, and the culture were some of the main reasons my husband and I have been wanting to travel to Greece for some time. However, my husband signing up for his first marathon in Athens actually made this trip a reality for us. We were able to explore the art and history of Athens; visiting the Parthenon and running/cheering on the original marathon. Then after a few days in Athens, we made our way to Santorini for a week of relaxing in the sun. Here are some of my favorite images from our Grecian Adventure. Please enjoy!

Honored to also have these Greece images featured on the Belle Lumiere blog.
